Behind the Photos...

I've always been fascinated by photography. From the development of the first camera obscure to its first use as documentation during the Civil War, photography allowed us to physically remember and hold the past.

Jim Brandenburg. Craig Blacklock.  Ansel Adams. Photography pioneers. These men were my introduction to this amazing world of capturing the beauty, nature, moments around us.

I was introduced to practicing this medium in high school with film developing and dark room work in photography class. My first photo I ever took with black and white film was of the Presbyterian Church in my hometown. Developing it was a magical experience, and from that day I was hooked.

Through my photos, I look to encapsulate the small glances of love between families, the pure joy pets have just to be in your presence, and those hidden glances into the world of nature.
